I thought I was going to be able to add a picture a day, but clearly work interfered with that plan. Anyway, this is a picture of the giant Russian granary in Kabul. I don't think it's still in operation, much like the other remnants of the Russian occupation, including the giant bombed-out, bullet-ridden shell of the former Russian cultural center. I think the only vestiges that are still semi-operational are the old Volga taxis and the AK-47s. Behind the granary you can see the ubiquitous hillside slums.
